Agriculture at Gawdy Hall

Of the 800 hectares farmed at Gawdy Hall, 65 hectares are permanent pasture, which is rented out for sheep grazing.

The main crops grown on the Estate are:-

• Wheat (Alchemy, Claire, Solstice, Viscount and Oakely),
• Oilseed rape (Astrid & Cabernet),
• Beans.

The Estate has two full-time employees and one part-time gardener.

Cultivations are based around non-inversion techniques using a 5 metre Vaderstad Top-Down, 6 metre Rexius Twin, and 6 metre Vaderstad drill.

There is 4,500 tonnes of modern on-floor grain storage, complete with stirrer system and propane driers.
